John Kinney (18?? to 1863) served in the 56th Regiment, Company B, for three years during the American Civil War and died of typhoid fever at the Passavant's Infirmary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His brother Edward Kinney served as a captain in the 56th Regiment during the American Civil War. He was married to a woman named Neal. Their father Thomas E.
